How human Cloning puts our Society at risk
Scientist Dr. Mullen has just been found guilty of performing illegal cloning experiments and is expected to be suspended from the Medical Board of Registration. Here’s why cloning is significant and how it could potentially be a huge threat to our modern society.
The jury, consisting of chairman Dr. Bishop, pro-cloning representatives Dr. Shark and Alan Greensburg, as well as anti-cloning representatives Alicia McSteel and Reverend John Taylor, discussed whether Dr. Mullen should be suspended from the Medical Board of Registration.
Dr. Shark, a young scientist, stated that clones could not only be an "insurance policy," providing excellent organ matches, but they could also do all the dangerous work humans are usually exposed to. She also suggested that scientists should be able to remove any feelings from human DNA to avoid rebellious acts. However, after further questioning, Dr. Shark had no further answer on how this would be implemented.
Alan Greensburg's arguments were very inconclusive. The major shareholder of Advanced Genomics did not really have a stance on the scenario, merely stating that he is ready to fund experiments as long as they comply with the standards of the National Ethics Committee.
On the other side, Alicia McSteel argued that cloning humans would cause an identity crisis and other psychological problems. She also stated that you cannot remove feelings from a human being, especially the fear of death. Human clones would still be afraid of dying, which would make killing them even more immoral.
Reverend John Taylor agreed with Alicia McSteel, rather than providing any biblical or religious evidence on the topic.
As a result, Dr. Bishop decided to suspend Dr. Mullen from the Medical Board of Registration for disregarding the rules and guidelines set by the National Ethics Committee. His discoveries should still be documented and further explored.
But what is so dangerous about cloning humans?
Cloning humans has two key problems: Overpopulation and "Designer Humans."
1. Overpopulation
With cloning, a lot of new humans will be created, which can reproduce rapidly and uncontrollably. Overpopulation will strain natural resources like gold, silver, and even basic things like water. It would also increase pollution and environmental disasters.
2. "Designer Humans"
By genetically modifying the clones' DNA, clones will tend to be smarter, faster, and stronger than natural humans, which would change the human perception of perfection. This could also make other humans feel depressed by comparing themselves to clones.
In conclusion, while the scientific advancements in cloning technology change the way we view ourselves as humans, they also pose significant ethical, environmental, and societal questions that cannot be ignored. The case of Dr. Mullen serves as a strong reminder of the importance of following ethical guidelines and considering extensive implications of scientific research.
The debate over cloning is far from over, and it is very interesting where this will develope in the future.
